A fire broke out on the roof of the Monte Carlo Hotel & Casino around 11:00 a.m., likely caused by a welding accident. It spread across the south facade of the 32-story hotel tower and was extinguished by 12:15 p.m. No injuries were reported. The evacuated guests were sent to the MGM Grand across the street.
